O God, your prophets and your Christ declare our need for grace and guidance. Your people Israel and your adoptees the Church show forth the power of relationship to overcome estrangement and bear the torch of redemption.

We thank you for those persons you place “on our team” and “in our corner.” Through therapists, spiritual directors, life coaches, and others, you guide us toward healing and wholeness, peace of mind and fullness of heart.

We thank you for the opportunity to be heard, to be vulnerable, to be ourselves. Through reflection on the past and dreams of the future, you show us the road we are traveling.

We ask you to bless and direct these our guides, and the time they spend with us. Help them and us through these sessions to know your love and concern.

Help them and us, when appropriate, to tell of the benefit of this work and dispel the clinging fog of stigma and self-abnegation. Help them and us to advocate for affordable access to this care for all persons.

You rejoice is our flourishing, O Wonderful Counselor. Praise to you, and honor, and gratitude.

Amen.

The people “on my team” have had a lot of junk to guide me through these last couple weeks. Super grateful for them and the care they offer to so many.

57. For Guidance

Direct us, O Lord, in all our doings with your most gracious favor, and further us with your continual help; that in all our works begun, continued, and ended in you, we may glorify your holy Name, and finally, by your mercy, obtain everlasting life; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

59. For Quiet Confidence

O God of peace, who hast taught us that in returning andrest we shall be saved, in quietness and confidence shall be our strength: By the might of thy Spirit lift us, we pray thee, to thy presence, where we may be still and know that thou art God; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
